Q. What is a Mobile Payments account?
A Mobile Payments account is a special type of merchant account that allows your business to accept payments via credit card (or debit cards that can be processed as a credit cards) and direct debits (credit card and bank account). It serves as an agreement between you, the bank, and a merchant account provider/processor to process financial transactions.
Q. What is a Digital Wallet account?
A Digital Wallet account is a special type of account your clients establish with your business via Mobile Payments. A Digital Wallet allows your clients to make payments for any product or service your business sells at any time electronically via PT.Transact without having to continually provide account details each time. Your clients can choose to use a credit card or bank account as their preferred source of funds for their Digital Wallet account.
Q. Who is the back end service provider?
PT.Transact Mobile Payments accounts are powered by IntegraPay, one of the fitness industry's leading billing and payments providers. You can find out more about IntegraPay here.
Q. Can I apply if I'm not in Australia?
For now, PT.Transact is only available in Australia and NZ. However, we are working very hard on an expected release to the US and UK soon.
Q. How do I apply for a Mobile Payments account?
PT.Transact boasts one of the world's simplest and quickest merchant account application processes. To apply, simply launch the PT.Transact app, tap the Menu button and select Apply for Mobile Payments Acccount.
Q. How long does approval take?
In most cases, you can expect approval in as little as 2-3 days.
However, if you have a current and active Fitness Australia registration, you can expect expedited approval. This is because of an arrangement we have with Fitness Australia that recognises Fitness Australia-registered trainers as having demonstrated some of the requisit 'good standing' standards required for a Mobile Payments account.
Q. Once approved, how long until I can process payments?
Once you are approved, you can immediately begin processing credit card and Digital Wallet transactions. You will receive an email containing instructions on how to configure PT.Transact with your new account, which is a quick, 1-minute process.
Q. What credit cards will I be able to accept?
You'll be able to accept: VISA and MasterCard. American Express is optional. Additionally, your clients can choose to use a bank account if they do not wish to use a credit card.
Q. What documents are required to complete the application?
Documents supporting business ownership (e.g., certificate of registration, etc), evidence of a bank account used by your business (e.g., copy of a bank statement) and identification such as your drivers license.
Q. How can I get copies of the documentation to you?
Supplying your documentation is extremely simple using PT.Transact! The Mobile Payments Account Application Wizard you use to apply for an account contains functionality that allows you to scan your documents using your mobile device's camera. These scans are then automatcially encrypted and securely sent to our servers. No photocopying, no manual scanning, no printing and certainly no snail-mail. It couldn't be easier!
Q. Can I use my existing bank account?
Absolutely. You don't need to open up a special bank account or switch banks like you do with many other merchant facilities. Mobile Payments can be used with any bank account you nominate that's used for business purposes. You specify which account you'd like to have your funds deposited into as part of your application.
Q. Can I use my existing Merchant Account?
PT.Transact Mobile Payments only works with the merchant account we establish for you in conjunction with our provider, IntegraPay.
Q. Do I need any extra hardware to process credit cards?
Absolutely not. One of the best things about using PT.Transact's Mobile Payments facilities is its Digital Wallet capabilities. By setting up a Digital Wallet account with you, your clients can make electronic purchases via their credit card or bank account at any time without needing to re-enter their account details each time. This makes purchasing additional products and services from you very quick and convenient for your clients.
Q. What kind of transactions can I make?
You can sell any product or service related to your business using Mobile Payments. This includes one-off purchases (such as a block of sessions) as well as recurring purchases (such as weekly or fotnightly recurring sessions). Your clients can pay using either a credit card or bank account via direct debit.
Q. When do the funds show up in my bank account?
Funds are transferred into your bank account within 2 business days, beginning the day after the transaction is approved.
Q. How secure is Mobile Payments?
We take security extremely seriously! Your trust in us and the trust your clients have in you are of paramount importance to us. Each and every bit of Mobile Payments data- including transactions- are encrypted TWICE before being sent. Our provider IntegraPay adheres to the strictest of industry-standard security protocols and are fully PCI-DSS compliant.
Q. Why does PT.Transact cost so little? What's the catch?
We're surprised at how often we get asked this. There is no catch. PT.Transact is completely free to download and use for up to five clients. If you need to record more than five clients, it costs just AU$19.99 as a one-off upgrade to PT.Transact Pro Edition. Once purchased, you'll never have to purchase Pro Edition again. It's yours forever.
PT.Transact doesn't charge any monthly license subscriptions, and there are no license renewals or on-going payments required. Transaction fees do apply for your optional use of Mobile Payments transactions just like any other billing provider however.
